Health & Safety
The health and safety of our children and staff are of utmost importance to us. Consequently, the following policies are in place:
-
Private secured entrance
-
We perform morning health checks and send ill children home for a full day. Additionally, we require doctor's notes, depending on nature of the illness.
-
We adhere to all the health department's guidelines regarding the timing of handwashing for children, educators, and others.
-
We adhere to a rigorous daily and weekly regimen for the cleaning and sanitization of all equipment, surfaces, and high-touch educational materials.
-
Individual cribs and cots are labeled, cleaned weekly and immediately upon soiled. Blankets (children 12 months and older) are sent home weekly for laundering.
-
Safe Sleep: Infant Back to Sleep
-
Staff receives continuous health & safety training on common sign of illness in children, including in first aid, CPR, and communicable disease.
-
All children and staff must be immunized.
-
All 3–5-year-old children must be fully toilet trained.
-
We maintain an up-to-date Safe School Plan in the event of any disaster and posted in the classroom.
-
Conduct and post monthly emergency drills so children and staff are prepared for emergencies.
Nutrition
Many infants, toddlers, and preschoolers enter school with, cultural, religious and medical concerns, such as dietary restrictions and allergies. These food-related needs are best addressed and managed by parents.
-
Infants (6 weeks to 18 months): Parents must provide all meals, including formula, and baby food.
-
Children (18 months to 5 years): Parents must provide a packed lunch.
-
We will provide morning and afternoon snacks.
The USDA Child Meal Pattern for Healthy Foods and Snacks—including milk, meat and meat alternates, breads and grains, and fruits and vegetables—is provided to all families to ensure children have access to nutritious, balanced meals throughout the day.
🚫 Special Alert: We are a NUT, Fish, and Seafood FREE school. This includes NO type of Nut Milk.
Thank you for helping us keep our school safe!
